Shelter administration
Shelter administration is the part of the site for one shelter's administrators: who works there, how much money arrived, and who changed what. Every pane is scoped to that shelter alone.
Who has access
Access belongs to the shelter's administrator and to anybody on the roster marked manager or administrator. Being a platform administrator does not by itself grant access to somebody else's shelter.
The administration pages are not indexed and do not appear in search. This guide is public — describing a pane is not the same as reaching it.
Seven panes
Administration has seven panes and each answers one question.
- Overview — how many animals, posts and followers the shelter has.
- Volunteers — the roster, invitations and deactivation.
- Finance — how much has been donated and how much has not yet been paid over to the shelter.
- Settings — what the shelter shows and what it takes part in.
- Usage — how much the app is actually being used.
- Audit — who changed what, and when.
- App — the install link and sending invitations.
Volunteers
A volunteer on the roster is invited, active or deactivated. Invited means the address has been entered but the person has not joined and holds no rights at all.
Deactivation deletes nothing. The volunteer loses the right to edit that shelter's animals, while their animals, notes, posts and audit entries stay and stay signed with their name. Reactivating restores all of it.
Finance
The platform is the recipient of payment, so money reaches it first and is passed on to the shelter by a bank transfer a person makes. “Unremitted” is the amount that has arrived and not yet been passed on.
The report in that pane only shows the state. No money moves from here.
