Child safety standards

Where we stand

Material depicting the sexual abuse of a child, and any conduct aimed at exploiting a child, is absolutely prohibited on ZooPlanet. There is no warning, no second chance, and no exception for who opened the account or how long it has existed.

These standards apply to everything that passes through the service: photographs, captions, animal descriptions, stories, care-journal notes, and the messages you send us.

What is prohibited

It is prohibited to publish, send, solicit or in any way share:

• any material depicting the sexual abuse of a child or presenting a child in a sexualised way, whether photographic, drawn or written, including material generated by artificial intelligence;
• content that grooms, lures or prepares a child for sexual abuse, including attempts to establish private contact with a child;
• information that leads to a child — an address, a school, a schedule, contact details — whatever the pretext;
• content that justifies, minimises, glorifies or advertises child sexual abuse, and pointers to where such material can be found;
• photographs of children published without the consent of a parent or guardian, even harmless ones and even ones taken at a shelter.

How to report

The quickest route is from inside the app: the account tab carries a report form where you choose the kind of report and write what you saw. It needs no signature and no sign-in — the form works without an account, because the person who sees a problem first is frequently not the person who has one.

E-mail works too, to kontakt@zooplanet.org, with the subject line "Report — child safety". Messages with that subject are read before anything else. However you report it, give us the address of the page or a description of where you saw the content, and the name of the account that published it if you know it. Do not download, keep or forward the material itself — the address is enough, and forwarding it is itself an offence.

If you believe a child is in immediate danger, call the police on 192 first and write to us afterwards. In Serbia you can also report to the National Contact Centre for the Safety of Children on the Internet on 19833.

What happens to a report

Reports are handled personally by one of the people who run the project. A report from the app reaches the same people at the same address as one sent by e-mail — the form is a shorter route, not a different procedure. There is no automated filter deciding this instead of a human, and we do not want one.

The procedure is always the same and in this order:

• the content is removed from the site immediately on receipt of the report, before anything else is established;
• the account that published it is permanently closed and stripped of every right to write;
• we preserve the evidence — the time, the account address, the IP address from the server logs — and hand it to the competent authorities in the Republic of Serbia;
• we tell the person who reported it that the content has been removed, without details of what happened to the account.

Minimum age

The service is intended for people aged 16 and over. We do not ask for a date of birth and do not verify age, because verifying it would mean collecting more data about everyone rather than less.

An account we learn belongs to a child under 16 is deleted along with everything attached to it. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has an account, write to kontakt@zooplanet.org.
